Chapter 47
By Young Sage
Ran just sat, and stared at the fire, he didn't know how long he just sat there and trying to collect his thoughts, probably only a few minutes, he didn't think that he had been sitting there that long. Shaking his head he tried to clear his mind, like he did every time he called on his ether magic, but he couldn't the eyes of the young boy still burned in the back of his memory like a inferno.
"Damn, why can't I get him out of my mind!"
What also bothered him was how young the boy was, he knew from what he had seen of the boy that he couldn't be more than 11 or 14...unless this world had found some way of slowing down the aging process, which was very conceivable considering that he hadn't encountered any civilians of any kind. But in all logical reasoning, if the boy was as young as he appeared...there was no way that he should have been able to project his astral form to him, it took ancients years of constant practice and counsel to even just TOUCH! Upon it, so how had this boy been able to project his whole body to him, it was just inconceivable...no, no it wasn't inconceivable, to what he had known, it might have been inconceivable, but here...who knew what could be done here, maybe young boys like that could touch ether easier, maybe he had been in stasis so long, that mages had reproduced strong sons that could touch ether easier could pull on more of it, and now, now it would be almost basic for young mages to be able to be able to master astral projection...
So what good could he be? if mages were so numerous, so plentiful, and so strong...why would the earth wake him? he could be of no help, he was just an old man, with knowledge of the old ways, with power that a child could probably match...
Ran felt so destressed he didn't know what to do, what to say, or what to think, he just sat there letting thought after thought encompass him.
Finally he let his resolve come back, and he stood up, if the Earth had awakened him, then it had a good reason for doing so, and he would try his hardest no matter what!
Ran tilted his head skyward, put on a mocking grin and turned in a circle and yelled as loud as he could. " Thats RIGHT!!! I'll do what ever it TAKES!!! No matter WHAT!!!!"
After sitting down, Ran felt alot better, he chuckled to himself, not only was he in an older body, but his mind apparently must be going as well...
He let out a full hearted chuckle as a thought struck him, The Earth had chosen a old senile fool, to help save it, the whole world might rest on the shoulders of an old senile fool!
Ran laid down and tried to get some sleep as he chuckled to himself....
